John Rippel moved to Santa Fe in the late 1960s and started making silver jewelry not long afterward. In his own words, he has been “loving it ever since.” Over the years Rippel has gained a national reputation for his belts, buckles, rings, earrings, bracelets and neckwear, which he sells at his Canyon Road shop. A few years ago he moved to a farmhouse in El Rito, where visitors will find him on this year’s tour.
