Originally from Guatemala, Gedeon Santos has lived in New Mexico since 1993. All his handmade weavings are produced on a backstrap loom with cotton thread, using both Guatemalan and southwestern designs. A regular on the El Rito Studio Tour, he has demonstrated his work at Northern New Mexico College and has exhibited in Albuquerque, at Santa Fe’s International Folk Art Market, and the Espanola Arts Festival.
