Like so many others, the landscape of northern New Mexico has had a strong and very unexpected power over me.  Or one could say, the landscape has changed my life in unexpected ways. It was 46 years ago that I first encountered this area as a college student participating in an archaeological dig in El Rito. As a Midwest guy, it was of course totally new and different.  It held sway over me for so many years that I realized it would have to be part of my future.  

Returning to El Rito as a resident makes me laugh and wonder about this full circle of mine.  My love of the out of doors and the rewards of capturing some of its beauty has drawn me to photography and it brings great rewards to share it all.
